6th grade: Leonardo De Vinci and Charcoal Portraits

6th graders used the Grid Method to draw their self portraits.    We drew the picture upside down so they would focus on the square in the grid to draw exactly what they see in that particular box.  The method took a lot of patience and effort.  

We used a variety of charcoal materials to shade and create our art work.
