Can You Take the Titanic Cold?
That is just what these students attempted to do. Titanic passengers had to brave 28'F, freezing temperatures and a majority of them froze to death. I've heard so many comments from students about what they would do instead of just freezing in the Atlantic. Such as, "I'd swim to the iceberg" or "I'd swim to the lifeboats" or "It wasn't that cold, I would have just floated till the boat came to get me" After this activity, students sang a different tune. The water wasn't even a full 28 degrees, it was 2 degrees warmer, but it was cold enough to get the point across:) Here are some of the priceless reactions from the students :) :)
| We had some who went last that wanted to try their feet. They said it was worse than the hand. lol |

6th graders share Homemade multiplication games with Fairfax 3rd graders.
Using their creative juices....6th grade combined art and multiplication and created a one-of-a-kind game to help 3rd grade learn their multiplication facts. We visited Fairfax this week and taught them how to play our games and left our games behind so they can practice learning their facts the rest of the year, It was fun for all involved :)
