6th: Art Appreciation: Henry Matisse/ Collage

We studied France and the "artist of scissors," Henry Matisse. We made abstract collages of ourselves.

In the background Elmo is pieced together by student's drawings. They each drew 1 square.

Pictured in the background is the class project of the Woman and Farmer Man with a pitchfork titled: American Gothic.
 

On the bullentin board in the background each student drew one square and pieced together a portrait of Obama.

6th Art Appreciation: Pablo Picasso


6th grade created works of art integrating cubism and mixing different hues of color. (Like Picasso's Blue period or Rose Period)  They could only use one color plus black and white. 

7th Titanic: Just How Cold Was It?


Students were able to feel the temperature (below freezing) that people of the Titanic felt on that cold April night when 1,200 souls lost their lives.
