Self Portraits: 6th graders

We learned about drawing using a grid.  Here are a few that really do resemble themselves:

Field Trip: Titanic (7th)

Unforunately we were not allowed to take any photos in the Titanic exhibit.  Some of the highlights: We got to view  hundreds of artifacts from the titanic, read mutliple stories of the passengers on board, touch a life -size iceburg, and we recieved a ticket at the beginnig of a passenger and at the end we got to see if they lived or died at sea.

We also enjoyed feasting at the Varsity in Atlanta.  We could take pictures here ofcourse. Here are a few:

Field Trip: Montgomery Museum of Fine Art (6th grade)

6th graders traveled to Montgomery to experience the wonders of Art.  This included touring the galleries, hands-on experiences in ARTWORKS, and creating their own piece of art in the studio. Here are a few pictures of our day:

6th grade: Aboriginal Dot Art

After studying Australia and their unique animals, we used pointilism (dot art) to portray an animal and how the animal relates to us:

6th: Art Appreciation: Henry Matisse/ Collage

We studied France and the "artist of scissors," Henry Matisse. We made abstract collages of ourselves.

On the bullentin board in the background each student drew one square and pieced together a portrait of Obama.
